Vice President & Minnesota Managing Director
Matt directs the business and government affairs of Cooperative Network’s Minnesota office.
Throughout two decades, Matt has served at the intersection of government relations, public policy, politics, and cooperatives. He brings a unique perspective from both state and federal levels, having previously served as staff in the Minnesota Legislature, governor’s office, and both houses of U.S. Congress, as well as senior executive officer in Minnesota state government and deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.
Matt’s breadth of experience spans a range of issues—agriculture, energy, transportation, environment, financial services, housing, telecommunications, capital investment, health care, human services, economic development, and more. It is building relationships, however, and acting with integrity in the midst of defending, protecting, and promoting cooperatives that Matt values most in his work. He is grateful to have the opportunity to bring this combination of experience to bear for member cooperatives and their member-owners.
Matt is based in Cooperative Network's St. Paul office.
