As a passionate advocate for Cooperative Network’s members and their shared cooperative principles, Tom Liebe oversees the strategic direction and financial performance of the country’s largest regional cooperative trade association, which has more than 400 members. Tom also serves as president of the Minnesota Cooperative Education Foundation, on the board of advisors for the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives, president of the National Conference of State Cooperative Councils, and member of the Madison Cooperative Development Coalition Steering Committee.
Tom has volunteered in several key leadership roles with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has supported his local communities as an emergency medical technician, football and lacrosse coach, village and joint plan commissioner, and in service on the Board of Public Works and a regional planning commission.
Tom is a University of Wisconsin graduate with more than 20 years’ experience in government relations, advocacy, and trade association management. He has worked at the Wisconsin Credit Union League; Wisconsin’s largest lobby firm; in the secretary’s office at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection; and the State Legislature.
Cooperatives across Minnesota and Wisconsin are providing tremendous value and service to their millions of member-owners every day, and Tom believes that promoting and protecting those cooperatives is a privilege. He is proud to be the team leader of an extraordinarily capable, committed, and effective group of cooperative advocates.
Tom splits his time between Cooperative Network's Madison and St. Paul offices.
