Kris Ackley has joined Cooperative Network as the Membership Development Director. With more than 20 years in association and non-profit management, her main responsibility will be membership engagement, retention and new business development. For the past eight years she led the statewide development efforts at Easter Seals Wisconsin in the areas of fundraising and events, donor stewardship, and board development. She has extensive experience planning events and implementing new fundraising initiatives, most recently a Celebrity Basketball Challenge featuring former Wisconsin basketball and football players. Kris also spent a few years in Minnesota as the Special Events Coordinator for Summit Academy OIC in North Minneapolis. The bulk of her career was spent as the Director of Donor Relations and Events for the National Credit Union Foundation, working with credit unions on a national level for 12 years. She is proud to be a Credit Union Development Educator, where she learned critical lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy and international development issues.
Over the course of the next several months, Kris will be actively engaging with management and key leadership from all sectors to address needs and concerns to ensure CN is providing the best possible services and experiences to our members and prospective members. She will be placing high importance on creating effective communication tools and branding the cooperative message. Kris is committed to promoting the unique businesses model and opportunities cooperatives provide to maximize benefits to members, rather than shareholders. She believes that innovation and staying on top of current trends, while honoring past success is key to the growth of both our members and Cooperative Network.
Kris is the youngest of five and grew up in a small farming community in central Wisconsin. She currently resides in Madison with her Shih Tzu, Charlie. Kris is active in the community and has volunteered with a number of non-profit organizations, including The Business Forum Madison, where she is a Past President and current member of the Program Committee. Most recently she became a member of 100+ Women Who Care, Madison Chapter and serves on the board of her condominium association. Kris is an avid sports fan, especially the Wisconsin Badgers and much to the chagrin of her family, a Minnesota Vikings fan. Kris will be at the annual meeting and looks forward to meeting people throughout the course of the coming months. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out by calling her at 608.258.4403 or email.
