Kristin Olson has joined Cooperative Network as the Membership Support and Education Coordinator. Bringing more than eight years of experience in agricultural communications, marketing and media relations, she will serve the organization as Membership Support and Education Coordinator – in charge of membership services, communication and educational programming.
Most recently, Kristin served as Media Relations Manager for World Dairy Expo, where she helped position the industry’s elite dairy cattle show and largest trade show as a must-attend event through media and marketing initiatives. Kristin formerly served as the 66th Alice in Dairyland, traveling the state as the premier spokesperson for Wisconsin agriculture. Her first duties will include working to maximize communications with all sectors of Cooperative Network in order to create a better experience for members of all sizes while helping them to connect to form a sense of community and drive change. Kristin’s career has provided extensive cooperative experience, knowledge and communication, especially during her time at Accelerated Genetics as the Dairy Advertising Coordinator.
Growing up near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with her family’s small dairy herd of show cattle, Kristin’s parents instilled in her a love of agriculture, which led her to receive a degree in Life Sciences Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison – and become an avid Badger fan for life. She was active in many campus organizations, including the Association of Women in Agriculture, Badger Dairy Club and the National Agri-Marketing Association, and she was also a member of the UW-Madison dairy judging team. She remains active in her community, serving as Vice President of the UW-Madison Association of Women in Agriculture Benefit Corporation, Co-Coordinator of the Dane County Breakfast on the Farm, volunteering with the Wisconsin Holstein Association and singing in her church choir.
Kristin looks forward to connecting with Cooperative Network members and stakeholders at the annual meeting next month. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out by calling her at 608.258.4405 or by email.
