Cooperative Network has joined a coalition of twenty-five agricultural groups asking that food and agriculture workers be included in Phase 1b of the COVID-19 vaccine allocation. Together, our group represents thousands of Wisconsin farmers, farm workers, farm service and supply workers and food processing workers. These workers are vital to keeping Wisconsin’s food supply chain operational and uninterrupted throughout the pandemic. At the same time, farm and food production workers have a documented increased risk of acquiring infection because of their increased exposure to SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19). Given the anticipated release of additional vaccines, the addition of more essential workers such as those in food and agriculture must now be added to the 1b distribution.
