Today, in response to the extreme cold temperatures and increased demand for petroleum products for home heating, Gov. Evers issued this emergency order.

The order is in effect for 30 days and specifies that drivers, while in the process of transporting petroleum products in Wisconsin, are exempt from federal and Wisconsin weekly hours of service restrictions. However, a driver who notifies a motor carrier that s/he needs immediate rest shall be given at least 10 consecutive hours off-duty before the driver is required to return to service.

Please read the Emergency Order, Executive Order #108, for full specifications.
